Deck Construction:

Demolished and disposed of previous 650 sq ft deck. Designed and built a new 700 sq ft deck of tight-knot cedar, incorporating a six-foot railing to keep my two cats inside. Chris Miller of Absolute Painting designed a railing consisting of alternate panels of cedar slats, separated by glass panels to take advantage of the fact that my property backs to an acre of green space.

Chris Miller is an amazing man! He listened to what I had in mind, designed the deck from scratch, put up with my repetitive questions, answered my concerns, obtained all necessary permits, hand dug the many footings, placed all the trusses, built the deck, ordered and installed the glass paneling, adjusted the cedar railing slats after we discovered that cats CAN get through a 2.75" space, and otherwise just did a fantastic job--all of it working by himself, and much of it in temperatures of 105-107 degrees! He also did many repairs that were discovered to be necessary as we went along, including replacing a 10-foot section of cedar siding. I can't say enough about Chris's work or his work ethic. He was simply fantastic, and also a really nice guy. If you need deck work or general carpentry, you can't do better than to consider Chris for the job. He's exceptional, and I'm honored to have had him work on this project for me.

Exterior Paint Job:

Power-washed house exterior prepped and repaired damaged areas, taped off windows and exterior fixtures, and painted exterior and all trim.

Description Of Work:

They power washed the outside of the house to prep for painting. Prepped and painted exterior of house including all trim, two rocking chairs and some minor interior painting of two door frames and surrounding walls on the inside.

After getting six estimates I chose Absolute Painting. They were approx. in the low end of the middle as far as price. Justin was very prompt for our first meeting and estimate. I almost didn't hire them because I was more comfortable meeting the owner of the company. When I expressed this concern, the owner Michael Hughes, promptly called me and came out to look at the job. He also stopped by while the work was being done two different times to check to see how things were going and if I was satisfied. Needless to say, I was extremely satisfied. The crew of guys were absolutely great...courteous, neat, conscientious in every way. I would use this company again in a heartbeat. When the job was finished I did a walk around/through with Justin and any little improvement or touchup that needed to be done was completed that day. Not much was needed because they did such a good quality job the first time. Thank you for a job well done.

The job went very well. Michael(The Owner) came over twice, both to do an initial review of the job to prepare an estimate, and then a few days before the job was scheduled to do a walk-through with a member of the crew. During both visits he made careful notes of our requests. In between he was responsive to emails and many questions we asked. On Thursday right on time the crew arrived. They carefully covered up furniture and other items and cleaned up nicely at the end of each day. The closet required more than the expected 2 coats of paint, they went and got additional paint and ended up doing 4 coats -- but the price didn't change. Removing the wallpaper wasn't easy -- the walls behind the paper were in poor condition, but they textured it and we think it looks good. After the job was completed, we did a detailed walk through and all the leftover paint was labeled so we can do touch-ups later on. I feel like we got a highly professional job and nice results from this company. It was done by a courteous team and was a great contractor experience, which I think says a lot. My wife and I are already considering the next painting project. The first company we'll call is Absolute Painting.

Absolute Painting painted interior walls and woodwork in kitchen, stairway and upstairs hallway. They were here on time, matched the paint and finish perfectly. It was rather complicated because I was only having them paint certain walls and we needed it all to match. Diane was VERY patient and helpful in making sure we got the color and sheen to match perfectly. They were polite, friendly, professional, and cleaned up after themselves.

This is the second time I have used Absolute Painting and Power Washing. I chose them as my painting contractor of choice after getting bids from several painters for my earlier job. Absolute Painting was very professional in their providing estimates, describing in detail, writing how things would go on the day of the job and directions on how to best prepare for the work to be performed. Based on that experience, I did not get any competing bids for this job. Our house is a 2500 sq ft recently built house. On the morning agreed to, a crew of 5 painters led by Diane Pettis arrived at the agreed upon time. Absolute Painting has always been very punctual. The crew immediately got to work without any fuss, and within an hour trim was masked, furniture was covered in plastic, floors were dropped off, and paint was being applied. Two coats were applied to all walls. The work was projected to take 8-9 hours; it was complete in about 7 hours. On completion, my wife inspected the work, pointed out areas where attention was needed, and those areas were immediately addressed to her satisfaction. Leftover paint was left with us for future touchups as I bang things into the walls and have to fix things. :-) As noted, I will not hesitate to use Absolute Painting in my next job.
